Use the right number of access points
One very powerful router rarely provides an even result across a large or complex property. Several well-positioned access points, connected by cable where possible, usually provide better coverage and more predictable performance.
Placement matters. Hiding equipment in a cupboard, beside electrical plant or behind dense joinery can undo the benefit of good hardware.
Separate important systems thoughtfully
Guest devices, smart-home equipment and principal devices do not always need to share the same network access. Sensible separation can improve security while keeping day-to-day use straightforward. The design should also account for printers, audio systems, televisions, cameras and equipment that only supports older Wi-Fi standards.
Test experience, not only speed
A successful installation should be tested while moving through the property, not only from fixed points. Calls should remain stable, devices should move cleanly between access points and important areas should deliver consistent service at busy times.
Keep network details, equipment locations and administrator access documented securely. This makes future support and changes quicker and less disruptive.
